The Clockwork Mysteries Series
Change of Heart
Vickie wants spice in her life, but her husband George is more interested in his work as a doctor. Left alone with nothing to fill in the time, the temptation of leaving the marriage is growing.
George wants to rekindle their love but he takes his duty helping the sick seriously, especially those who can’t afford medical bills, and finds it hard to spend time with Vickie.
An outbreak of a mysterious illness threatens the ordered world of Vickie and George. George becomes ill, and Vickie is left to care for him, as well as trying to work out the cause of the sickness. To survive, Vickie needs to find a way to take charge in her world.
Heart of Gold
Vickie’s husband, George, insists she undertakes self-defence lessons before starting her private eye business. George worries about her safety but doesn’t want to stop her from developing her newly found skill of solving mysteries.
The training sessions are difficult and Vickie is exhausted. Now that her and George have rekindled their love, Vickie is determined to find the time to keep the sparks flying between them as much as possible.
When her trainer is injured, Vickie discovers he isn’t entirely human, and has mechanical parts. But George doesn’t believe her. Vickie insists something untoward happening and she must investigate. Can she solve another mystery while maintaining the renewed spice between her and George?
Vickie starts her private eye business with only one client. She immerses herself in the case by helping a distressed woman, Alison Jenkins, who mourns for her deceased husband, Frank. The more Vickie learns about this case, the further she realises something sinister occurred with Frank’s death and the assumed suicide could well be a cover for murder.
The private eye work distracts Vickie from her renewed commitment to husband George, and her marriage is once more in rocky territory. Vickie is forced to decide what is important to her and decide what her heart really desires, being a private eye or a wife. Or can she find a way to have both?
Vickie is kept busy with her private eye business. Her success depends on solving personal mysteries and helping clients, but she has too many cases and is overloaded. Her work is consuming her day and night, and she pushes her husband George away, putting her passion for her work ahead of her relationship.
George gives her an ultimatum.
The tension with George, the stress of attempting to solve a case, might prove to be too much for Vickie.
Vickie loves her work, and when helping people, she finds it becomes hard to say no. Can she balance both in her life?
